Britney Craighead is an M.A./Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication at UC Santa Barbara. She is an alumna of UCSB where she received her a B.A. in Communication with a minor in Professional Writing in 2011.

Her undergraduate research focused on video game violence and interactivity. She co-authored a paper titled “The Effectiveness of Word Completion Tasks as a Measure of Aggressive Cognitions” which received the Top Three Paper award at the Western States Communication Association’s Undergraduate Scholars Research Conference (2011) and a revised version of the paper which received the Stephen A. Smith award for Best Group-Authored Student Paper at the National Communication Association Conference (2011).
