I received my Bachelor of Arts in linguistics from UC Berkeley in 2011 and a Masters of Arts in linguistics from the University of New Mexico, defending my thesis with distinction in 2014, titled, "Language attitudes of first and second generation Afghan-Americans and Iranian-Americans toward Dari and Persian".
Research:
I am a PhD student currently researching intimate partner violence as it relates to marginalization, culture, and interpersonal communication, with emphasis on Muslim populations. I am interested in investigating both the theoretical underpinnings of intimate partner violence and possible interventions and other applicational work.
