National Communication Honor Society


What is it?

A national honor society founded in 1985 in order to:

  • Recognize, foster & reward outstanding achievement in communication

  • Stimulate interest in the field of communication

  • Promote & encourage professional development among Comm majors

  • Provide and opportunity to discuss & exchange ideas in the Comm field

  • Establish & maintain closer relationships between faculty & students

  • Explore options for graduate education in communication
  • Who is eligible?

    Students who:

  • Have completed 90 units (junior standing)

  • Have completed 18 Comm units (5 Comm classes)

  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 (including prerequisite courses)

  • Are a currently enrolled student in good standing

  • Display a commitment to the field of communication
  • Interested?

    Pick up an application in the Communication Undergraduate Advising Office (4009 Social Sciences and Media Studies building) Monday – Friday, 9:00am -12 noon and 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

    Note: An announcement will be sent out on the listserv when applications are due. This typically happens twice per year.

    Applications are due to the Undergraduate Advising Office by specified dates in the Listserv announcements. Please attach a copy of your unofficial transcript and a $50 check payable to Lambda Pi Eta.
