The Intergroup Communication Interest Group of the International Communication Association Names Annual Top Student Paper Award after Research Professor and Professor Emeritus Dr. Howie Giles

The Intergroup Communication Interest Group of the International Communication Association has named the Annual Top Student Paper Award after Research Professor and Professor Emeritus Dr. Howie Giles. The “Howard Giles Top Student Paper Award” will be presented annually, along with a brief biographical summary of Dr. Giles’ accomplishments. The Department of Communication at the University of California-Santa Barbara will also be honoring his outstanding body of scholarship and the mentoring of students by providing financial support for this award.
